Understanding Standard Sizing
Generally, adult clothing sizes are based on body measurements. These measurements are usually taken in inches or centimetres and correspond to different parts of the body, depending on the garment type. Here's a breakdown of the key measurements to keep in mind:
- Bust/Chest: Measured around the fullest part of your chest, under your arms and across your shoulder blades.

- Hips: Measured around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, keeping the measuring tape straight.
- Inseam: Measured from the crotch down to the ankle along the inside of your leg. (Primarily for pants and jeans)
- Shoulder: Measured from the tip of one shoulder to the tip of the other shoulder across your back. (Primarily for tops and jackets)
